A good book

I'm actually a little embarrassed to admit that I bought this book.

Still not married :( but working on it :)

I found the book a little biased at times (men actually have feelings/insecurites/issues too) but overall I think that the priciples and information found within would benefit anyone. Besides, in many scenarios, just think of them in reverse if you're a guy reading this and voila - it becomes applicable!

To those who commented about the author being divorced or whatever - consider that it's possible for someone to advise without necessarily leading the way -eg. a priest giving counsel to a couple about a marriage.

I recommend the book to anyone - just don't go out and commence some radical "things have got to change" strategy with your SO - internalize and take it one step at a time.

PS. I agree with the critics who are tired of the "Oprah" "Dr. Phil" miracle cure tone of many of these books - but still, ignore the urge to throw the book down and start an Anti-phil movement. The book can inform if you're willing to ignore that

Learn how to use TOR

The content of the book can be best described with the following statement from the author: The subject of this book: how to connect to the Internet with the confidence that someone listening in to your connection won't be able to figure out what you are doing (or at least make it very difficult)"

This book is all about Tor. From why people use Tor, how to get Tor or Tails, how too use Tor, how it works and what you shouldn't do when you use Tor.

Peter doesn't go too much into details. I thinks it's just enough information to get an understanding how the reader can archive anonymity and what tools (and how) to use. The target audience are novice users who don't have much experience with Tor. He presents Links to websites with detailed information for the interested reader.

He explains how Tor works and how Tor can protect your anonymity. He describes the Tor Browser Bundle and Tails. Further he explains what Tor Relays and Tor hidden services are and how to step them up and configure them.

At the end of the book he shows how to use E-Mail anonymously (with Tor).

When you finished this book you know a lot about Tor. Certainly not all the details, but you have heard about it and the reader knows where he can get further information.

In my opinion this book is really good and is easy to read. I hope that many people will read the book and start using Tor.

The title is completely inappropriate -- this book should just be called "A Summarized and Simplified Documentation for Tor". There is nothing here that really can't be found by reviewing the existing (free) documentation available on the Tor project's public web page. As a matter of fact, there is a great deal more advanced and specific information available there (in addition to entry-level stuff) than is available in this book. Syngress is hit or miss -- some of the imprint's stuff is great. This is not. Avoid this and read the free stuff available online. This is not worth the price of admission.

Ronnie Ancona is the author of Time and the Erotic in Horace’s Odes (1994), Writing Passion: A Catullus Reader, 2nd Edition (2013), and Writing Passion Plus (2013), coeditor of Gendered Dynamics in Latin Love Poetry (2005), editor of A Concise Guide to Teaching Latin Literature (2007), and coauthor of A Horace Workbook (2005) and Horace: A LEGAMUS Transitional Reader (2008). She is Professor of Classics at Hunter College and The Graduate Center (CUNY). In 2009 she won the American Philological Association Award for Excellence in Teaching at the College Level and served as the APA Vice President for Education from 2010 to 2014. She is coeditor of Women in Antiquity, Oxford University Press, and editor of the BC Latin Readers, Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers.

Whither Asean

Nariten has not written a well-balanced book on Asean especially with regards to solving its economic cooperation problems. He has tried to provide a good framework on what it takes for Asean to do in the face of the onslaught from India and China.
He might be too pessimistic at times regarding the future of the organisation. But looking back at the past achievements of Asean, he certainly cannot be blamed for this pessimism. Writing from an outsider point of view, Narine at times has depended too much on secondary material. He could have done better by interviewing the practioners of Asean economic cooperation, both the diplomats and businessmen in order to make the book even better.
On the whole the book looks like a PhD thesis that it was derived from and the chapters at times lack continuity.
The history of Asean economic cooperation have been better covered by others before and Narine rather than just simply condemning the Asean concept of cooperation could have come up with concretet proposals on how the problems that have engulfed Asean economic cooperation be resolved. A better comparative study will be how Asean compared to SAARC.
Narine should spent more time in SEA and see for himself how the economies that were in a mess just 6 years ago are once again as the dynamo of Asian economic growth.
Pessimism is well-placed at times especially with Asean economic cooperation but that must not deter away from the fact that a lot has been achieved Asean over the last 40 years when even the countries in the association were not even sure of the state of their nationhood.
Narine therefore failed on this score to highlight the achievement while at the same indulging too much on its weaknesses. The day when a similar third world grouping is at par with Asean then only a book can be written to rubbish this SEA organisation.

Such a great series, and Meet Baby Morgan is no exception. I loved the addition of new characters in this book, from the neighbors to the pack of Pomeranians named after *nsync. A great, light-hearted, and funny read.
